Lord Digby Jones was a guest of the Royal Navy for a submerged day in the Western Approaches aboard HMS Torbay, a nuclear powered hunter/killer submarine.
He was very impressed with the sheer professionalism of the officers and men and appreciated just how vital the Royal Navy is, in general, and its submarine capability, in particular, is to the security of our trade links and the security of our Country and people against terrorism, drug trafficking and piracy.
